This report examines the extent to which two-year colleges offer family-centered training for early childhood professionals. Findings are based on research conducted with over 350 two-year colleges across the nation. Written primarily for faculty and administrators, it offers tools for assessing and practical strategies for strengthening family-centered training.

The Families Matter series discusses families in the context of child care, family support, and diversity.  It describes why family support is essential as well as areas of practice through which providers can develop the knowledge and skills to partner with families.  It also discusses ways of working with children and families from diverse backgrounds, and focuses on the importance of provider training to raise program quality.
