A growing investment in evaluation, for purposes ranging from continuous improvement to accountability, has led to increased requests from the out-of-school time (OST) community for practical evaluation tools. As part of our continuing effort to help practitioners and evaluators choose appropriate evaluation methods, this Snapshot describes instruments and tools that you can obtain and use for on-the-ground program evaluation.

We updated this Snapshot in August 2008 to reflect the many new tools that have become available since its initial publication in November 2005.

About This Series
Harvard Family Research Project’s series of Out-of-School Time Evaluation Snapshots distills the wealth of information compiled in our Out-of-School Time Program Evaluation Database and Bibliography into a single report. Each Snapshot examines a specific aspect of out-of-school time evaluation.
