Public Libraries: A Vital Space for Family Engagement pub coverIn Public Libraries: A Vital Space for Family Engagement, released by Harvard Family Research Project and the Public Library Association, we highlight how libraries support schools, communities, and families. Libraries provide the books, media, guidance, and activities that help open doors for children’s literacy development and lifelong learning. Educators see the value of libraries as free and safe spaces that help to prepare children for school and connect them—and their families—to a wealth of out-of-school learning opportunities.

October is a month to celebrate the value of libraries, with Teen Read Week (October 9–15) and National Friends of Libraries Week (October 16–22).

Join us as we honor library contributions to encourage family engagement and lifelong learning.
