A recent article in the Star Press highlights HFRP Founder & Director Heather Weiss' upcoming speech at a Parent University event in Muncie, Indiana on May 1.

An excerpt from the article reads:

Dick Daniel, who works as the Community Scholarship Liaison at the Muncie Area Career Center and is on the diverse 11-member Parent University planning committee, said Weiss' arrival will be a breath of fresh air to those trying to improve the local education scene.

"Coming from the Harvard School of Education, she's a top-notch scholar and no doubt researcher," the former Central principal said. "Having someone like that coming to Muncie, Ind., at our initial Parent University meeting really says something about the commitment that we have to help parents gain that knowledge that they're going to need."

The Parent University event is a workshop designed to encourage parents to take a more active role in their children's education.
